Earlier this year we had the pleasure of joining EXP to brew a beer for their 4th anniversary celebration, and if you've ever been, you know they throw one of the best brewery parties around. It was a great opportunity to share ideas and brew a massive TIPA together, so inviting them to be part of this year's Nos Amis Québécois lineup was an easy decision. For this collaboration, we borrowed a few tricks from the EXP playbook while putting our own spin on things. Nearly half of the malt bill is wheat, creating an incredibly dense haze with fantastic head retention. We also zested a mountain of fresh oranges to bring a bright, vibrant citrus character to the beer. To top it all off, this is our first time using Freestyle's Nectaron, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Pouring a pale straw yellow with a towering white head, this hazy IPA bursts with fresh orange zest, juicy tropical fruit and bright lime on the nose. The palate is pillowy soft and incredibly smooth, delivering flavours of ripe nectarine, sweet citrus, pineapple and lemon lime candy, all wrapped in a vibrant orange pith character. It finishes clean with a gentle bitterness that keeps you reaching for another sip.
